The Model Risk and Analytics (MRA) team operates at the crossroads of Data Science, Statistical Modelling, and Economics, transforming data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making.
As part of the IFRS9 and Stress Testing team, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the foundation of the business by delivering both quantitative and qualitative analysis across the suite of models.
As a Risk Modelling Manager, you’ll lead a team of talented modellers and data scientists, responsible for the development, validation, and ongoing management of the credit risk models.
Your work will directly support key stakeholders across Risk and Finance, ensuring all models are robust, compliant, and optimised for decision-making.
Your purpose
- Leading the design, development, and implementation of risk models, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Building optimised impairment models that perform effectively across different economic scenarios.
- Supporting Senior Management in overseeing the performance of existing credit risk models, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing improvements.
- Producing detailed model documentation and presenting findings to key stakeholders while navigating governance processes.
- Managing model performance monitoring, including ongoing maintenance and annual reviews.
- Selecting the most suitable modelling techniques and recommending refinements where needed.
- Providing technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to develop the team’s expertise.
- Driving the adoption of risk models across the business to support informed decision-making.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong expertise in model development methodologies and credit risk frameworks, with hands-on experience in building risk models.
- A track record in leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
- Deep knowledge of FCA regulations, governance frameworks, and compliance standards related to credit risk.
- The ability to translate complex technical outputs into clear insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience delivering model risk summaries and recommendations.
- A history of successfully delivering model development projects within tight deadlines.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience navigating internal and external governance processes for risk models.
- A track record of embedding risk models into wider business functions to enhance decision-making.
