Outsourcing Assistant Manager

In this client-facing role, based in Glasgow, you will collaborate across both the Glasgow and Edinburgh offices. Reporting to both a line manager and directly to a partner, you will be responsible for providing business advisory, outsourcing services, and accounts compliance work.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing complex accounting compliance work for entities, adhering to established procedures.
• Staying current with UK GAAP and other relevant accounting frameworks.
• Engaging confidently with clients on accounting issues and escalating complex matters to senior staff when necessary.
• Assisting in identifying, researching, and resolving accounting challenges.
• Reviewing completed returns for accuracy, identifying potential issues, and flagging them before manager/RI review.
• Understanding how finance and accounting functions vary across industries and business structures and ensuring compliance with best practices.
• Offering advice to clients on day-to-day accounting transactions and appropriate treatment.
• Identifying opportunities to improve business process efficiency for both the firm and clients through add-on applications.
• Customizing standard management reports to meet specific client needs using relevant software.

Key Requirements:

• A qualification in accounting (CA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Experience preparing monthly or quarterly management information.
• Strong ability to interpret management information and add value to clients.
• Knowledge of financial projections and cash flow management.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
• A solid understanding of FRS102, with knowledge of IFRS being a plus.
• Experience in preparing statutory accounts, consolidations, and cash flow statements in either a trainee or senior role.
• Strong research skills for resolving technical accounting matters.
