Prudential Risk & ESG Oversight Manager
The Prudential Risk & ESG Oversight Manager will play a key role in maintaining financial stability and driving sustainability initiatives. Operating within the Second Line of Defence in the Risk Function, the team's responsibilities cover both Financial and Strategic risk categories. The team provides oversight and challenge to ensure financial health, minimise losses, and promote sustainable growth.
How you’ll make an impact:
As a Prudential Risk and ESG Oversight Manager, you will contribute to continuous oversight of financial resilience, capital adequacy, funding and liquidity, as well as market risk. Your role will also involve assisting with independent assurance on regulatory deliverables, such as ICAAP, ILAAP, and Basel 3.1 Implementation.
You will help to assess the framework and related reporting developed by first-line teams to manage Prudential and ESG risk, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Additionally, you’ll support management in interacting across the business, building relationships with stakeholders across Treasury, Risk, and Finance.
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience in banking, preferably within Treasury Risk or Finance. Familiarity with prudential regulation, Treasury products, and challenges linked to Basel 3.1 implementation would be an advantage.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in managing, prioritising, and delivering multiple projects or tasks.
- A strong track record in building rapport with key stakeholders.
- Experience leading discussions with peers and senior colleagues, fostering a collaborative approach to reach consensus.
- Clear and effective communication skills, especially when explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and propose practical solutions.
- Experience with technical and statistical tools such as SAS, SQL, VBA/Excel, or Power BI would be beneficial.
- Existing knowledge, or a willingness to learn about Prudential Risk topics and relevant regulations related to:
- Capital
- Liquidity and Funding
- Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book
- Recovery and Resolution
- ESG
