As part of the third line of defence, this role ensures the effectiveness of the organisation's control framework, particularly focusing on operational risk and payments. Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Audit in developing and executing an effective audit strategy.
• Lead and manage a portfolio of complex audits, ensuring robust assessment of operational risk and payments-related controls.
• Deliver expert insights on areas such as technology, cybersecurity, and change risk to enhance business resilience.
• Evaluate and synthesise complex information to produce clear, concise, and insightful audit reports.
• Foster strong, influential relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience at a senior level in internal or external audit, risk assurance, or a similar oversight function.
• Strong technical expertise in operational risk, payments, and retail financial services, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry trends.
• Ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams to achieve high performance standards.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a track record of engaging and influencing senior executives.
• A recognised audit qualification (e.g., CISA, CISSP, or equivalent) is desirable.
