Senior Consultant Sustainability & Audit, Munich
One of our top clients in Munich, a market leading Accountancy firm are currently actively looking to grow their Sustainability Audit team.
As part of the audit team you will examine sustainability reports as well as annual and consolidated financial statements. You will support our clients in complying with environmental and social reporting standards. Develop your potential in an innovative environment and accompany start-ups, medium-sized companies, and global players on their way to a sustainable future.
Your Responsibilities
Review Sustainability Reports and Financial Statements: Examine sustainability reports and annual and consolidated financial statements of companies across various industries.
Support Clients with CSRD Requirements: Assist our clients in preparing for the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in conjunction with EU taxonomy and integrated reporting.
Analyze and Adapt Work Processes: Help clients analyze and adapt their work processes to account for potential risks and new environmental and social regulations (ESG regulations) in their reporting.
Develop Internal Standards: Further develop our internal standards and contribute to the expansion of our product portfolio.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work in interdisciplinary teams with colleagues worldwide and, as a senior consultant, support the leadership of other team members.
Provide guidance to clients on adjusting workflows to address evolving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) regulatory frameworks.
Contribute to the development of internal audit methodologies and thought leadership.
Your Qualifications
Educational Background: Successfully completed a degree in economics, industrial engineering, or a comparable course of study.
Practical Experience: Ideally, initial practical experience through an internship in auditing, accounting, or the sustainability department of an industrial company.
Knowledge of Reporting Standards: Familiarity with standards and requirements for reporting on non-financial aspects (such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and EU taxonomy) or knowledge in financial reporting (HGB/IFRS/US-GAAP).
Teamwork and Responsibility: Value teamwork, are responsible, possess analytical thinking, initiative, and enthusiasm for a dynamic environment where requirements can change quickly.
Communication Skills: Excited to work in different locations, can communicate very well in both German and English, and are motivated to contribute to a more sustainable business world as an auditor.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in economics, accounting, or related fields.
Previous experience in auditing, accounting, or sustainability departments, preferably within a professional services firm.
Knowledge of non-financial reporting standards such as CSRD and EU Taxonomy, or proficiency in financial reporting standards (HGB/IFRS/US-GAAP).
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills in both German and English.
