Change Financial Services are partnering a leading firm, based in the heart of Glasgow’s Financial Services District, to recruit a Financial Reporting Manager to their team. The role has significant scope and reach within the business to prepare and have ownership of a group of internal and external returns. Working at controller level, the role will be responsible for a small team and their oversight, partnering to ensure that regulatory submissions are accurate as well as enhancing internal controls and reporting.

Applicants will be able to draw from reporting experience in a similar role within Financial Services or a performing audits within Financial Services, where navigating the balance sheet and a range of stakeholders is key. Key duties will include but are not limited to the below;

  • Oversight and management of a team with responsibility for month end delivery
  • Leading on the preparation and review of external reporting to a range of parties
  • Ownership of balance sheet controls and reporting internally at month end
  • Production of commentary and analysis to support returns
  • Working with a range of senior stakeholders to respond to queries and questions, acting as the point of escalation for team members
  • Reviewing and ensuring controls are adequate to meet production timetables, using experience to challenge and enhance these where possible
  • Evidence a solid working understanding of IFRS and disclosure requirements, becoming an SME for the business
  • Confidence in engaging and taking ownership for work, with a proactivity in offering enhancement and insight to improvements

The role will enable the successful applicant to join a business that empower their workers, not just in the role but also wider within the finance team to make improvement and challenge norms. A solid background in financial or external reporting is key to build on the current processes within the team, as well as oversight of the work of junior staff members.

Hybrid work pattern: 3 days in office with flexible work pattern available

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + excellent benefits and bonus potential
